Francis Bacon said (The mould of a man’s fortune is in his own hands)
before talking about success and motivation I had to start with this quote because if you agree with me without motivation we don’t feel like doing anything , motivation is the inner power that drives humans to achieve whatever they desire and not only achieve it but successes in their lives.
this is motivation in its simplest form when you feel motivated you love what you do and feel more passionate for this and this helps you generate energy and power within you and this helps accelerate your performance unlike when you are unmotivated you lack the energy and passion and power to achieve your goals and reach success and this therefore makes you focus more on what went wrong and the faults in your performance which leads to poor performance and bad results.
in the dictionary the motivation is a desire to achieve a goal, combined with the energy to work towards that goal, for example when a scientist is motivated he can come up with new inventions whether new technologies or new cures for deadly diseases or when a student is motivated have a desire to undertake his study and complete the exams and finish their courses, motivations comes from a Latin word “motere” which means “to move”.
There are three types of motivation are :
- survaival motivation
- external motvtion
- internal motivation
Survival motivation pushes you to fulfill necessary needs such as food , air and water if any of those is absent a primary power fires neural centers in your brain which makes you physically aroused and motivated to do whatever it takes you to fulfill this need only and only if this need is satisfied then he body goes to its natural status let me give you an example if someone is trapped in a room with no air he will do whatever it takes him to get air and survive, its as simple as this when your existence is threatened you will do the impossible to survive like if you are in the woods and you ran in to a lion you would run as fast as your legs can do to survive.
External motivation this type of motivation comes from the outside world let me ask you a question if your boss comes and thank you for an ordinary job you have done would not that affect you and motivate you to do much effort and do a better job, ok how about the opposite you bet it would it might even influence you for a long time unfortunately people rely so much on external motivation to feel they are appreciated from their bosses , friends and family , humans have the desire to be approved by others we want to be appreciated and people to think highly of us, but the problem with this type of motivation is that it fades away , you can’t get appreciation and approval from others all the times which drives us to the most powerful and lasting type of motivation which is the internal motivation.
Internal motivation with this type you are driven by the inner power within you to accomplish your goals and achieve them greatly, like for example there was a women with four children whose her husband has passed away and found herself responsible for her children and herself that situation has driven this women to take night courses and work for two shift job to support her family and now she has her own chain of restaurant.
internal motivation is the inner power that comes from within you , it’s the sleeping giant within you that is waiting to be awaken and as Ralph Waldo said that “what lies behind us and what lies before us is tiny matters compared to what lies within us”, this is applies so much on the law of attraction which means you attract what you believe in like for example if you believe that you can success and you have that power of motivation inside you that would attract success to you in everything you do, it’s all about what is inside you which means you have to strongly believe in yourself and always motivate yourself to achieve success and attract success to you.
